The Zhao Lab is expanding into several new interdisciplinary research directions, including chemical, fluorescence, and computational microscopy imaging; deep learning-based microscopy and fiber-optic imaging; and novel microscopy applications in cancer and neuroscience research.

Our lab is actively recruiting outstanding PhD students. Given the interdisciplinary nature of our work, we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds. We are particularly interested in applicants with training in biomedical engineering, biochemistry, biology, medical physics, optical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.
